I've been using Dave Brooks Electric for a few years now - since I bought a house in Staunton, VA. The amount of outright unusual work I've had done to get my own up to scratch for my three full racks, three tape libraries, and to get my 16kVA UPS installed is absurd. That's not including the 48kW generator that's in progress.

Having problems getting Fedora, Ubuntu, or any other Linux distro to make use of the NVMe drives? Getting namespace errors? Getting acpi errors?

Go into the BIOS->Chipset->North Bridge and change “VT-d” to Disabled, then save BIOS settings and reboot.

I've been looking for a portable, fast, mid-capacity storage solution for photos and video. The Terra-Master F8, the base model, seems like a good solution when combined with NVMe, Optane, Linux, ZFS, and iSCSI.

Having trouble running battle.net in Linux using Steam/Proton? Try setting Steam to run the battle.net installer from say ~/Documents every time with the bnet install location as the working dir. This is basically using the installer as the launcher. It finds a local copy of bnet already installed so it runs that. Quick, easy, keeps it updated too. I use this on both Arch, Fedora, and my Steam Deck.
